About Our Founder
Expert care, player-ready fields.
The story began when Adam Van Dyke, owner and certified agronomist of Professional Turfgrass Solutions, took up the game of golf in high school, and started his first seasonal golf course job, which lead to the pursuit of a career in golf course management. Adam earned a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture with an emphasis in Turfgrass Management from Utah State University in 2002, then he became a golf course superintendent. He soon developed a keen interest in the science behind managing turfgrass, and changed career paths to continue his education of turfgrass science.
In 2004, Adam managed the turf and ornamental research as a research technician for his alma matter, leaning new skills and earned, a Master’s degree in Plant Science with a minor in Soil Science from Utah State University in 2008. His research studied the water retention and phosphorus uptake effects of humic substances of golf putting green rootzones.
Also in 2008, Adam founded Professional Turfgrass Solutions LLC to fill a need for independent contract research and consulting services for turf managers in the Intermountain West. Fueled by a deep passion for turf science and research, he set out to bridge the gap between innovation and practical application. Since then, Adam has partnered with numerous companies, golf courses, and turf professionals—leveraging over two decades of experience to deliver science-backed agronomic solutions that help clients solve problems, optimize performance, and make more informed management decisions.
